happy birthday to me

well the colorado woelfel clan is short one papa this week as kiko is in vegas for a trade show. we miss him but look forward to his return tomorrow night! my birthday has been nice i went and got a massage and am just laying low. i was hoping i might be able to go home and visit with the fam but it just didn't work out, so i'm just going to hang out and be mellow and try and be grounded.

yesterday palmer did the sign for music! i've been trying to do some signing with him, as my friend sarah's boy henry is still doing a lot of signing and it is a great way to help babies communicate before they can speak. he also does all done when he's in his done at his high chair. i think it's pretty cool. i try more and water with him still. thirsty and hungry. They say you don't want to over whelm them with too many signs at once.

breakfast time again

we ran to the mall to meet tyler and arlin at the breakfast, which turned into a bit of birthday shopping for me and a little lunch at california pizza kitchen. i got 3 shirts and a pair of jeans. everything was 50% off the sale price so really i saved a lot of money :) and some new speakers for my computer.

there are some pictures of palmer helping kiko make some screens. our whole house fan is working out pretty famously. it get's as warm at the end of the day as our house was starting out first thing in the morning so i call that a success! sleeping under the covers is great!

kiko leaves for vegas tomorrow for a trade show :( hopefully he'll have some fun too though. i'm going to get my eye brows waxed tomorrow and a massage on thrusday! yey for mama!

sweet punky

palmer was being so sweet yesterday. cadee stopped by and he was cuddling up and flirting right with her! so cute!

this morning he was being pretty funny too. drumming on the couch and rocking out to his own beat. then just lounging.

i know i'm biased but he's just the sweetest (and cutest) little thing. i took a nap when palmer napped this morning though i feel better i need to do that more often! thought i had a terrible dream that kiko was murdered! ugh!

so excited tomorrow morning we are getting the whole house fan! yey! relief!

rambles on the thursday evening

so hopefully this video imports this time. i tried and tried and couldn't get it yesterday. it doesn't have any sound i think because i loaded it through my printer instead of the doc, but we'll see. it had audio when i took it then when i got it on my computer it didn't, oh well, you get the drift of palmer dancing. so freaking cute! i love it.

he's had a hard time going to sleep the last 2 nights, i don't know what it is, maybe just the heat. teething. it cooled down today and threatened rain today, but we only got a little sprinkle here. other metro areas got some good rain. hopefully we'll get some tomorrow. i just cannot justify watering the lawn when we are in a drought. i was so jealous it was 68 degrees in PDX yesterday! and 99 here. i just do not do well in the heat! i actually don't mind it if its humid and i'm by the water. anyway. i want to xeriscape the whole front yard. i don't want to deal with grass it doesn't belong here in colorado and it isn't happy, especially in this drought. i water half heartedly for not very long.

arlin came over today while mama got her hair done. palmer and arlin actually kind of play now! you still have to make sure no one pulls anyone else's hair but they are just so cute i think they are going to be thick as thieves.

my birthday is in a week! kiko is going to be las vegas for a trade show so i was going to get my hair done and have tyler watch palmer but when i tried to make an appointment the girl i go to doesn't work their anymore! ugh! i just need a little hair cut. oh well, i'll figure it out.

i'm starting to think a lot more about school starting! eek! it starts on the 11th of august. we have the week off the democratic national convention is here. i should volunteer or something but i think i'll just stay up at the house and avoid the madness. i would like to go see barak speak but we'll see. i've ordered all my books online, i emailed all the professors to get which books i need, so i pray they get here all on time. with all my ebay drama it actually paid for one of the books and i think i've saved about $200! i'm taking Art of the 20 - 21st century, HIstory of Photography and Art and Cultural heritage. I only have 2 more classes (i think) and then i graduate! ye ha, only 12 years! hehe.

man these pictures aren't loading. . . . it's taking so long. i'm reading a good book about the ego. it's an oprah book, a new earth. it looks at things in a whole different way. i've been watching the podcasts of the lectures oprah did with the author echart tolle.

the other day i had palmer in his high chair eating cherios watching sesame street in spanish and they were singing about different musical instruments and palmer started grooving to music! so i caught him doing it today. we got ourselves a little dancing man! so super cute.

so we are trying to figure out what kind of cooling system to get for our house. i was 100% for a whole house fan. http://www.colohomecool.com/Main%20Pages/SHTFW01.html (can anyone tell me how to add just a link in the text?) anyway. I was totally sold because it should work great in colorado and it's very energy efficient. Then I finally got a call back about a swamp cooler today. It's about twice as expensive, but still reasonable and Xcel is giving rebates for them. Hmmm. . . . I am a bit torn, I know that a whole house fan would really cool us off at night and make a difference, but on really hot days (like the last week or so) it'd be nice to have something to cool off. So then we thought we could just get a window Swamp Cooler for a couple hundred more bucks, and the whole house fan would pull that cool air through too. I think that's probably the best bet, then when we don't need extra cooling we can turn the swamp cooler off. Sometimes doing a lot of research makes decisions even harder! ignorance is bliss!

Pray for my grandma, she just had a cornea implant surgery today and she was all worried about it.

nuclear hot weekend, here we come

yesterday was a rough one for mama who thought it would be a good idea to tie one on at my friend cadee's birthday party. watch out for pomegrant (sp) mojitos! cadee's lady sarah is an amazing bar tender, but i learned my lesson!

so we went and watched henry yesterday so sarah could go out to eat lunch with a friend. he slept the whole time so it was really just palmer playing with new toys!

today we went up to have lunch with dad (chilly cheese dogs! oink oink) and then i stopped and spent too much money at target, which always happens! i got this cute swing on sale for $13! who could pass that up! and a new pool since ours got holes in it.

there is one picture from wednesday i forgot to put up of sarah and palmer at the breakfast in at the mall.

this weekend we are going to try and do some yard work. i need to clean the house. work on saturday and maybe go buy some bike's at target.

so excited a week from tomorrow they are coming to install a whole house fan, if kiko agrees with it. our house has been so hot it'd be nice to have a little relief.

oh and i forgot we weighed palmer at kiko's office he is 24.65 pounds! man he's big! also in one of the pool pics if you you click to enlarge it you can see his two top teeth! he's got the ones on either side now too so a total of 6 teeth. i cannot believe how fast this is going. he refuses to eat baby food now, he's a big boy and likes to feed himself. i just have to get creative now about what to feed him!
