happy baby

he's such a happy little munchkin most of the time. well, at least the last couple days! such a sweetie.

well the DNC is wrapping up. it has been really a neat thing for denver. kiko and i are independents but definitely for obama. i don't want to get up on a soap box on a baby blog. i really need to start my own abby blog here one of these days. i just can't believe after where this country is now people are still afraid of a change that has so much promise. that people in the middle class are worried about obama stopping bush's tax cuts (trust me they didn't affect you). that a lack of experience aka entrenchment in the good ol' boys system is really something to fear. bush had experience and he's not made this a better country or better world. i could go on and on, our school system, how much i have to pay for not great health care, it would be more than our house payment to have kept palmer and i on pretty good health care. the destruction of our enviroment because god gave us the earth to lord over it and the animals so that means destroy it? how can a few wedge issues be the most important politics to some when there is so much more to taking care of ALL the people in our country. treating people like jesus would did not include hating. ok i'm done.

yesterdays brushes

so yesterday was my first go around for worst mother of the year. first brush, brush with death. i was getting ready to head out to buy a new out fit for the DNC party and decided to check my emails first. well there a storage thing of drawers under the computer the palmer goes through while i'm on the computer which i thought i had baby proofed and after a second i look down and he had a pill near his leg. i grabbed him and pried open his mouth and found a pill in his mouth! they were blood pressure pills i had been given when i was preggers. i only took one because they made me feel weird and i threw out the bottle and didn't realize there were some floating in the drawer. i called my mom, the nurse, and she said keep and eye on him and maybe call poison control. i called poison control and they say get him to the ER now! needless to say it's hard to keep your cool when you may have harmed your sweetest little guy in the world. so i ran to the ER and luckly he was fine, but man i learned my lesson. he was being so sweet and cute at the hospital flirting with everyone and just being so super cute. oh i would sell every organ to keep him healthy! lesson learned lesson learned.

on to brighter news. my foray into hollywood on colfax in denver. second brush, brush elbows with the stars.

i had read in the news paper the owner of a couple bars, restaurants and clubs had the contract to host celebrity DNC parties. our friend is the manager of one of these bars so I told my friend sarah to ask him if he could get us in. she texted monday night and said we could go to the party on tuesday at the rockbar (barackbar for the DNC). so we head down. we got there at 9:30 and we were the ONLY people in the place besides the DJ, the hired security and the bar tender. our friend steven wasn't even there yet! honestly it was just nice to hang out with some ladies anyway, so no harm no foul. we were just hanging out and talking and steven comes up and says his boss just told him 30 celebrities were on their way! they did show up in full force. susan sarandon, spike lee, josh lucas, alan cumming, anne hathaway and rachel leigh cook were the people's who's names i knew. there were a bunch of: who is that? what were they in again? actors that i had to do a little research to figure out names, so sorry to their egos but also in attendance were: gloria rueben, richard schiff, dana delaney, and tim daly. there were a couple more but i didn't know what they were in. i was hoping to see maggie gyllenhaal but i guess i wasn't at the right spot, or she's not in town yet. it's pretty crazy. i only took one picture and we were trying to be sly and i got our boobs. i hate to be a tourist and know that actors are just people. only more evident by spending time with them. we got invited to a showing of a movie tonight and the onion party on thrusday so i told sarah we should just stay out all week and the boys can hang :) hehe. . . ya right! i wish kiko could have come with as things are always funner with him!

i learned that i cannot drink vodka anymore. i only had 4 short stoli and sodas over a 4 hour period and i got sick. sick sick sick. i had drank 3 tall waters and ate 2 tacos. yuck.

ok, palmer being sweet at the hospital and a video of him making a clicking sound he makes. super silly.

almost a step

i'm trying to figure out why these damn video's don't seem to have audio. they have audio when they are on my camera but when i down load them they don't. i used another application to down load this one and i'm hoping it word. we shall see. it isn't half as cool without the volume.

tagged

my friend kami tagged people who read her blog so here it goes:

20 years ago: i was 9. living in our first house in rainier. i was probably working on a fort in the woods and going down to enjoy the beach by the river. our family was probably getting ready for a camping trip for labour day weekend. mara was just 2 so i was torturing her and she was torturing me back.

10 years ago: i was 19. hmmm. . . . right before the 2nd year and Metro State. living by myself in 5 points. i think my parents were still here in colorado. going to do my laundry at their house. oh, how i miss them being close. working at the daily grind coffee shop. hanging out with kari and jenni. foot loose and fancy free.

5 years ago: working a lot. starbucks, creations a salon and whole foods. i had just started managing the massage at whole foods i believe. being emeshed.

3 years ago: hanging out with kiko! going to concerts, enjoying each other. had a great little apartment, was enjoying feeling alive.

yesterday: ran around and picked up paperwork at whole foods. hung out with my sweet boys. realized you will never regret spending too much time with your child. watched the DNC. did anyone else cry during michelle obama's speach and seeing teddy kennedy speak was really moving too.

tomorrow: enjoying the good things in my life. learning something new about art on some level, probably work on my ridiculous art history response. try to go to yoga tomorrow night.

you're tagged now. . .

george clooney's got nothing on this lil star

even though he's been a little extra grumpy it's hard not to totally love him. i thought maybe he was a little vitamin D deficient so we went and played in the yard this morning and got a little sun before it gets too warm. then he crashed for his morning nap. i'm so excited i might be able to go to a DNC party tonight for a little star seaching! eek! i need to go shopping! i went to yoga last night for the first time in for ever and oh man don't i feel great. it's hard to fit it in and find time for keeping time with kiko too. i think we make a pretty amazing team though so hopefully i'll be able to go regularly. i'm trading with the yoga studio again so i get free yoga, well i'm cleaning the studio for yoga, which is awesome since it's pretty spendy. so i'll be trying to go to the late classes and crack of dawn classes and maybe an afternoon on the weekend if you wanna come with me. i've got free class coupons if you want to try it.

catching up

man am i tired. praying palmer will sleep through the night. i'm guessing it's teething but man oh man this boy has been a little grump.

here he is being cute in his crib.

in the bath.

playing with my wallet. he will take everything out of my wallet so intently, like it's his job. it's very cute.

trying to get a picture of his newest lower tooth.

and finally he was being silly and trying to bite kiko's feet and then laughing so hard about it. he's got a thing for feet, hmmm. . . . maybe he'll grow out of it.

park hill and beyond

here are some pictures of our walk in park hill the other day. i had no idea the houses got so big on 23rd street. i had only ventured as far as 26th! i was doing some research about what i want to do in the front of our yard. i want to just put some rocks in and maybe some succulants (sp?). maybe some beautiful russian sage and other colorado friendly plants. i'm all about zero scaping. it's amazing how nice our grass looks after 2 days of rain. i had almost lost all hope and now i'm back to weeding it! kiko and i are dreaming of expanding the back patio a little bit to cut down on the grass and create a little more space for BBQ's as you know we love entertaining, though we haven't been doing much of that at late.

anyway i love looking at houses when walk. it makes it so much more interesting. i've a wealth of new neighborhood to enjoy. i've been up and down every street in north city park so i'm excited to explore and look at the houses on the other side of colorado. there are so many beautiful old homes. there was a really beautiful church, i took a picture of. it has a really neat court yard area in the middle. my pictures of the houses are kind of sly i didn't want to look like a creep taking pictures of people's houses.

and of couse some pictures of my sweet little boy! he was so grumpy i took him for that walk and he was still grumpy on the walk. today he took two long naps! so he was in much better sprits. some times this kid just does not want to miss a thing. there's a picture of him with kiko's flip flop which he has been pulling out the little tab on the bottom that holds the straps down and sucking on it! kiko says, "that 's the last thing you should be sucking on" he's such a boy.

big boy

here is palmer being silly. he's such a big boy! we were doing some yard work last night and kitten escaped through the garage. i saw her sneaking out and i went after her and she took off. i don't think she's back, i dreamed about her all night. i don't blame her with all the torture palmer gives her. he's still not quite figured out how to make nice with the kitty. i'm sure she'll be back when she's hungry enough.

i've got to start doing some ultra reading now for school. i have next week off for the DNC so i'll have to use that time to get ahead a little hopefully!

back in action

well my computer wasn't broken. my modem was just screwed up. they are going to replace my cd drive, which has been screwed up for some time.

anyway, we had some great cool weather with lots and lots of rain but it's back to warm, but not too hot, which is nice. i love fall though and it made me excited for fall.

palmer can pull the lid off his little stars and put it back on actually now. he's always up to no good when he's entertaining himself for a while.
