thanksgiving

we've just been hanging out together.  i've been trying to get some homework done although it's hard, and i haven't gotten much done yet, ugh. . .

we made cornish game hens, stuffed with corn bread stuffing, mashed turnips with crispy shallots, sweet potatos, roasted balsamic beets, and mini pumpkin pies.  i was cooking all day and so tired i fell asleep at 7!  felt much better yesterday. . . hope everyone is having a good weekend!

hopefully

so i went with my friend james to a pawn shop and got an ipod that plays video.  palmer seems to like it but we'll see.  it was cheap and james haggled and got them to go down another 30 bucks so what the heck. . . it won't hurt anything anyway.  we don't let him watch tv so hopefully it will be exciting enough to keep him happy. . .

palmer was being sweet.  i took these pictures at james's school (he's going back to beauty school).

friday wednesday

looking forward to the rest of this holiday week with my boys.  so palmer has cut 2 new teeth!  i couldn't figure out where he was getting them but they are the upper 2 next to the k-9s. . . not the k-9's the ones next to them.  ouchy. . .

man it feels like i am constantly cleaning the house.  with palmer picking things up and carrying them places it's a never ending battle. . . i still haven't accomplished much as far as my homework goes. . . 2 papers, 2 tests, 1 response, 2 presenations and 1 quiz.  shew. . .

i'm trying to figure out what to get for palmer on the plane.  i think it might be my million dollar idea to put together gift packs of travel fun for different age groups.  maybe it exists but i haven't found it and i've been researching traveling with a toddler a lot.

so the laptop is too big and all palmer would do is press the buttons. . . thinking kids travel dvd player but the battery only stays charged 2 hours, and we'll be on a 8 hour trip. . . should i just get a ipod that plays video?  hmmm. . . .

dramatic flower

beautiful sunset
such a big boy

he was looking in the mirror crying. . . pretty dramatic if you ask me.
some geese flew over honking honking and palmer got scared and started crying

i went out and let him run around a bit with his coat on.  pretty cute.  he's been almost sleeping through the night now.  he wakes up once sometimes but i totally feel the change and it's awesome!  i feel vindicated after the doctor gave me a hard time about it, because he knows how to put himself to sleep.

playing around

messing with the different options in iphoto.  finished my paper!  woo hoo!  it turned out to be 15 pages!  it only had to be 8 - 10, but i'm an over achiever obviously.  no it just took that long to get to the point!

so i've been reconsidering putting palmer in day care next semester.  i've figured out my schedule so i don't have to taking 2 evening classes and a sat photog class, but there is an art therapy class fridays 1-4 i want to take.  if i don't have to i want to try and stay home with him, he's growing up so fast, and i just don't think i can do it, since i don't have to.  i've been trying to figure out what to do about fridays.  i asked one of the massage therapists who works for me if she could and she said she is available now but her schedule might change.  then i was looking on care.com and there are a bunch of profiles of people looking to watch kids.  there was one that sounded good, i just can't figure out how you contact them, i think i have to pay a fee.

this is her profile:
Part-Time, 10 + Years of Experience
I am a loving Christian stay-at-home mom to two beautiful boys who are almost 3 years old and 19 months old. I left my job as a respiratory therapy instructor when I got pregnant with my first son. I have over 15 years of experience working in neonatal and pediatric ICU's and have current basic and advanced life support certifications. I am available on a very flexible schedule to provide child care in my home or yours. If you do choose to come to our home you should know that we have one large but lovable and mellow dog who is never left alone with children. Please contact me if you'd like to discuss how I might help you. God bless you.

i think it would be good to have palmer socialize and i'd obviously have to meet her.  it says $5-10 and hour too so that sounds good.

another thing i'm thinking about taking the GRE and just trying to go on after i finish my BA next semester and get my masters.  i have been praying about what to do when i finish and i think that's what i need to do.  just keep on keeping on, then when i'm done with a MA in public health, kiko will have his masters the economy will have turned around and we'll both be marketable so we can hopefully move closer to the NW.

the GRE is pretty scary i gotta get the study book!  my friend becca is going to bring me hers at her xmas break so i can study in hawaii :)  fun.  i think that's about it.
