best boy ever

sue has been watching palmer on mondays while i do my paperwork but they had gone back to visit family and wisconsin and still needed a little time to settle in so palmer came to work with me today. it's so fall here, finally. i LOVE it! he was so good i had to buy him a present, i know i know, but i went to a thrift store and he picked out a couple books and a little metal dump truck. i got a few books too, some plant based cook books. anyway, then we came home and ate lunch and took a nap and when he got up we went to the central library. i know i am always talking about how much i love it but i love love love love the library. the people there the books. the central public library, which i drive too even though there is a closer one, is a federal reserve library. it's amazing, it's huge, and i love it. and i think i'm teaching palmer to love it too. he said, "thanks mommy i love you." i asked "do you know what i love you means?" he said, "ya, it's poopie cack", which is pooty cat, i think, which maybe i guess it is.
ok, i only documented the part when he was being sweet, not when you was standing on the window sill jumping onto this cushions. he also ran races "on your mark, get set go. . . " back and forth in the deserted isles. he asked me to wave a flag as he ran, so i cheered and waved a pretend flag for him. "i am the guy, i am the winner". i got a book about track and field. :) there was no one there, it was dusk, trees turning and rush hour traffic going by. it's cool and crisp outside and over cast. . . . ah. . . my favorite weather (i'm totally an oregonian at heart)
he rumbled with this stuart the mouse for a while

just reading. . . such a good boy! he really is the most fun kid ever, i'm so blessed!
he was saying to kiko, "i am your best friend." and then he saw me too and he said, "i am your best friend forever too." awe. . .

oh no she di'n't

palmer reading. i've been putting him to bed with a book, i think a book is his comfort object. is that ok? he reads himself to sleep. . . what ever works right?

i found palmer a little tykes coupe on craigslist hoping to keep him occupied while i do yard work and oh my goodness does this guy love his "ca ca ca". i had to put it in the passenger seat when we drove home and he was flipping out, he wanted to play so bad. he does love it and it does keep him entertained like crazy. he pushes it around, hangs out the window, gabers on his cell phone, puts the key in and out, makes car noises, says, "hi you" to me while i'm gardening. a very wise investment i think! simple pleasures!

i'm kicking butt on my yard. i saw that the habitat for humanity outlet store has gardenening bricks and i want some to edge my flower beds, but will have to see if i have any money after opening this new store. . . it's getting pretty stressful trying to figure out a good looking space divider that i can afford. . . keep me in your thoughts and prayers so my head doesn't exploid trying to do a million things at once.
